Testing and Assessment Center Policies
Identification
Official photo identification such as a driver's license or student ID is required for testing at the Testing & Assessment Center.

Certain specialized testing programs have additional ID requirements.

Books, Notes, Ect.

Only materials specified by your instructor are allowed into the testing room. Most tests do not allow the use of notes, calculators, etc.

Cellular Telephones and Pagers

These disturb other examinees and should not be brought to the testing center. Use of a cellular phone during a test will be considered cheating. If you must carry a pager, please make sure it will not sound during the test.

Lockers

Small lockers are available in the Lane-Thomas Building for storing personal items during your testing time. Use of these lockers is subject to the main campus locker use policy found in the KCC Handbook.

Children at The Testing Center

There are no facilities for childcare at the Testing Center, and children are not allowed in the testing rooms. College policy prohibits leaving children unattended in any campus building.

Scheduling

Make-up exams are administered on a walk-in basis during our posted hours. All exams will be collected at closing time. It is your responsibility to allow sufficient time to complete your exam. Most other testing programs are administered according to a schedule or by appointment. Check the information for the program you are interested in.

Cheating

Test center personnel closely monitor testing rooms. Students caught with materials not specifically permitted by the instructor will have these materials confiscated, and the incident will be reported to the instructor. For national testing programs, irregularities will be reported, and the student dismissed, if this is a provision of the exam.
