Michigan Department of Corrections - MDOC
To work as a corrections officer with the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) you must have 15 college credits in approved topics. The recommended program of study is the 16 credit hour Certificate in Corrections. Candidates who have completed this program score substantially higher on the Civil Service test and receive the same consideration as candidates who have an associate or bachelor degree.

To qualify for advancement with the MDOC you must have an associate degree. The Associate of Applied Science in Corrections is recommended.
