Kellogg Men's Basketball
team hopes for strong finish
After starting the season with a three game losing streak, the Kellogg Men's Basketball team has drastically improved and is looking to carry some recent momentum into gaining a spot into MCCAA regional tournament. A loaded February schedule consisting of all league foes will give the Bruins a perfect opportunity to earn their way into the eight team post -season tournament. Kellogg will have to continue to be lead down the stretch by its two sophomore leaders, Darius Holman and Steve Roper.
Roper, a Grand Rapids native, is currently the team's leading scorer and rebounder averaging just above eighteen and a half points and nine rebounds per contest. Roper is a versatile athlete that can play multiple positions on the floor and provides leadership to a young KCC squad.
Homan came to Kellogg from University Park, Illinois, and has emerged as one of the go-to guys for the team averaging sixteen points, five rebounds and nearly two steals as well as blocks per game. This experienced combo has caused problems for opposing teams and will need to continue to play well in order for the Bruins to make a late season push towards the post season. Three of the Bruins last five games are away from home, but the team will host Jackson Community College for their season finale on February twenty ninth.

KCC athlete profile — getting to know a current Bruin
By Andrew Fleming
Spotrs Editor
This month's athlete player profile is of Addison Webb, current sophomore student athlete and baseball player. Webb, a Mattawan, Michigan native, has returned for his sophomore year after playing a significant role in leading the Bruins to a North Regional Championship as well as a trip to the NJCAA World Series where the team finished fourth in the country.
Webb, a two sport standout in high school, played three years of varsity baseball at Mattawan High School where he caught the eye of Kellogg head baseball coach Eric Laskovy by playing his way to all-league honors his senior year.
When Webb committed to be a part of the Bruin family, Coach Laskovy knew he was not only getting a great ball player but a great student as well.
At the conclusion of the upcoming spring semester, Webb will be receiving his general studies associates' degree, maintaining a grade point average of 3.8. His high academic achievements have positioned Webb to qualify to be a NJCAA Academic All American.
On the field, Webb plays a vital role by playing both middle infield positions and hitting just about anywhere in the Kellogg line-up. Webb hit a respectable .280 as a freshman while leading the team in triples with three.
Webb will look to continue his success both on and off the field this spring when the Bruins take their annua
l spring trip to Louisiana in early March.
